The Senior Specialist - HR (Payroll) ensures payroll compliance with federal, state, and local employment tax regulations. The role is responsible for the preparation, posting, and reconciliation of payroll financial and tax accounts. This role will be responsible for handling our payroll for our international assignees, calculating shadow payrolls and gross ups for the Global Mobility payroll.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform ongoing monitoring and research of regulatory changes in federal, state, and local payroll, tax, and employment law 
  • Identify the impact of tax changes and document findings, and initiate and implement changes to the payroll tax system through the software tracking system  
  • Carry out the coordination and administration of team compliance testing 
  • Assist in identifying, developing, and coordinating the testing and implementation of electronic filing of payroll wage and tax data to meet specific jurisdiction specifications 
  • Communicate changes in payroll tax laws and regulations 
  • Prepare final payroll reports for approval from leadership
  • Reduce pay shortage issues and calculation errors as well as contribute guidance to staff in providing positive effective customer service responsiveness
  • Partner with different HR teams to optimize processes including but not limited to benefits, data administration, HRIS, etc.
  • Perform quarter end and year end audits/reconciliations
  • Serve as a point of contact for W2’s, amendments, and tax adjustments as needed 
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Inbound and Outbound assignments

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in payroll and/or tax administration
  • CPP or FPC 
  • Experience using ADP, SAP, and time/attendance systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll procedures and payroll related tax filings
  • Expert knowledge of year end processing, amended returns, W2C, and quarterly adjustments
  • Subject matter expert of payroll regulations (FLSA), wage/tax law, and record keeping/administration
  • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and analysis skills
  • Ability to multi-task and be proactive in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workloads as well as functioning as a reference point for the team
  • Strong organization skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Experienced and skilled in MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of shadow payrolls, hypothetical taxes and assignee programs
