Sr. Leave Benefits Specialist (Remote)

Summary

The Senior Benefits Specialist is responsible for the daily administration of the company’s health & welfare and leave & absence benefit programs. This role collaborates with employees, management, various internal and regional HR departments, insurance carriers and/or other outside vendors to ensure all benefits and leave administration follows approved company policies.  

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the employee eligibility process including monitoring, tracking, analyzing and adjudicating all employees
  • Coordinate the implementation and administration of employer benefit programs including health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, employee assistance and other welfare benefit plans
  • Facilitate the leave of absence program to include employee accommodation and interactive process by following the “American's with Disabilities Act” guidelines in coordination with the Accommodation Committee
  • Perform complex analysis and reporting to assist with benefit recommendations and decisions
  • Facilitate benefits enrollment information sessions
  • Liaise with benefits administration vendors in numerous capacities
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on all health/welfare and retirement benefits plans 

What You’ll Need

  • Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field 
  • 4+ years of experience in benefits administration 
  • In lieu of degree, 6+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above
  • Working knowledge and understanding of HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, IRS Section 125 and other applicable legislations 
  • Understanding of federal and state regulatory benefit compliance 
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Self-motivation and highly professional demeanor
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments while maintaining commitment to deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of constituent groups such as senior management, peers, and outside contacts
  • Experience using ADP, SAP and time/attendance systems
