Summary

Lidl US is seeking a Sr. Global Mobility & Immigration Specialist who will manage and coordinate department programs and services while overseeing immigration, employee short- and long-term transfers, assignments, country entry, and domestic and international relocations. The role supports the department by working on GMI programs to better streamline the transfer/assignment experience. This position advises leadership on global mobility & immigration policies and practices.

What You’ll Do

  • Assess and select global mobility & immigration vendors and quality checking of external service providers
  • Support the roll out of regional and in-house processes in relation to global mobility & immigration. 
  • Ensures the immigration status of employees remain valid by managing immigration processes. 
  • Approves eligibility of candidates by adhering to all required processes linked to global mobility & immigration programs 
  • Monitor and analyze KPI’s and costs, thereby identifying risks, errors, problems and improvement opportunities
  • Analyze and optimize programs and ensure internal customers receive periodic reports on global mobility& immigration cases and budget 
  • Act as subject matter expert for global mobility & immigration while advising employees and leadership teams 
  • Serve as partner and point of contact for outside counsel, government agencies, third-party vendors, company management, internal stakeholders, and related parties by providing immigration, relocation, and mobility support

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in related field
  • Ability to provide superior customer service to external and internal clients 
  • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and attention to detail
  • Ability to make decisions on relocation and immigration related situations 
  • Ability to effectively manage the relationship with service providers 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an advanced level (use financial and logical functions; work with multiple worksheets and workbooks)
  • Working knowledge of the tax, legal, immigration, and policy compliance issues regarding international mobility/expat administration
