Summary

Lidl US is seeking a Sales & Use Tax Manager who will be responsible for ensuring timely compliance with all fiscal tax laws, statutory notices, and orders to which the company is subject to. Additionally, this position provides support to other departments & leadership in response to tax-relevant issues to ensure the Company remains in good standing with all federal, state, and local authorities.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage all aspects of the preparation and submission of tax filings, accompanying documents, notifications, and other tax-related correspondence
  • Advise management about issues such as tax strategies, resource utilization, and the assumptions underlying forecasts
  • Represent the company before taxing authorities and provide support during litigation involving financial issues
  • Analyze and communicate the tax implications of operational business processes and/or transactions to relevant parties
  • Define, document, and implement necessary tax-related policies and procedures, including tax processes and key-user functions for tax-relevant systems
  • Communicate and coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors as required
  • Stay abreast of legal developments and industry positions in order to accurately evaluate options and responses to requests for information from management and government officials

What You’ll Need

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance 
  • 3 - 5 years of experience sales & use tax  
  • In lieu of degree, a total number of 7+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above
  • Expert understanding of U.S. tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite specifically Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities
  • CPA, MST or tax law background Preferred
  • Knowledge and familiarity with financial accounting Preferred
  • Experience working in public accounting or large corporate environment Preferred
