Summary

Lidl US is seeking an experienced Real Estate Manager to join our Syosset-based New York City / Long Island expansion team. The Real Estate Manager is responsible for identifying top-tier potential store locations in New York City and the surrounding region. The Real Estate Manager will also be in charge of conducting market drives with C-Suite leadership, preparing Real Estate Committee presentations, negotiating first-position lease contracts in Lidl’s favor, and working with various Construction teams on the site’s approvals and development processes. The role supports the team by meeting expansion goals for number of closed contracts per year. The Real Estate Manager will focus in trade areas located in the Greater New York City Metro Area but will need to be present at the Syosset Regional Office at the discretion of the Director of Real Estate.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify potential store locations and negotiate the lease contracts to put Lidl in the first-position as a tenant throughout NYC Metro Area
  • Oversee the development and approvals process of NYC Metro Area sites in conjunction with the Construction Team 
  • Prepare and present market studies and site presentations to senior company leadership 
  • Coordinate project management with numerous team members to develop new sites, beginning from conceptualization through store opening 
  • Attend New York City approvals meetings to explain to city leadership and the public the advantages of Lidl’s expansion

What You’ll Need

  • Extensive deal-sourcing and deal-negotiation experience in NYC Metro Area
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in:
    • Real Estate Development 
    • Location Analysis / GIS / Urban Planning 
    • Economics 
    • Real Estate Finance 
    • Business (non-finance related) 
  • Willingness to be present in the Syosset Regional Office at the Discretion of the Director of Real Estate 
  • Experience public speaking, especially with C-Suite executives, as well as city and municipal officials 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent written communication skills 
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments while maintaining commitment to deadlines
  • Ability to travel extensively, especially in the first 9 weeks of employment (travel provided by company) (travel will be on the Eastern Seaboard of the United States)
