Summary

We are currently seeking a hard-working, highly organized individual that can support the Public Relations team as Lidl continues its fast-growing expansion in the U.S. The ideal candidate will work to ensure adequate and successful external communications and the responsible execution of the requirements within the area of corporate communications as well as product and brand communication. This position will work to ensure functioning stakeholder management with media representatives and transparent and adequate press relations. 

What You’ll Do

  • Creation of press releases and media pitches and answering national and regional media inquiries on various topics 
  • Support with stakeholder management in the area of media work
  • Active management of relevant journalist contacts 
  • Support the Head of Corporate Communications and External Communications Manager with placement of messages, information gathering and relevant follow-up with internal and external parties
  • Support in the creation of text, image and film material for cross-channel use
  • Support in the planning and implementation of external (media) events
  • Support in the development of social media channel (Twitter), including channel strategy and planning
  • Research, creation and analysis of reports on Lidl and the grocery industry  
  • Support PR department in the development, planning, coordination and implementation of PR measures 
  • Support with travel and scheduling for departmental leaders 

What You’ll Need

  • BA or BS in Communications, Public Relations or related field
  • 1-2 years of professional PR and Communications experience in corporate or agency setting 
  • Familiarization and optimization of PR and Measurement Tools 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Project Management skills
  • Travel Requirements: 25% of the time
