Summary

Lidl US is looking for a Product Safety Specialist to join our team! This position works out of our corporate headquarters in Arlington, VA on a hybrid schedule, reporting three (3) days a week.  The Product Safety Specialist supports the Quality Assurance process and workflow functions to achieve department goals by successfully achieving tasks as directed. This includes timely and proactive handling of reports, cases, and tests that assure quality and safety of products.

What You’ll Do

•    Oversees and manages assigned project and/or departments data, ensuring it meets predetermined contractual or policy requirements
•    Conduct data entry and data management for various department projects
•    Assist with the development of training materials such as manuals, handbooks, presentations, diagrams, workflows, and project plans
•    Monitor, evaluate, document, and communicate process results in accordance with Quality Assurance Standards
•    Support and assist in risk assessment and escalation for critical customer complaints, analytical results, audit results, supplier communications, authority reports and general product problems
•    Support and assist coordinating special projects with other departments
•    Maintain high levels of integrity and discretion
•    Perform other duties as assigned

•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
•    Ability to work independently
•    Ability to multi-task with a high attention to detail
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
•    Knowledge of principles and methods of food science, physics, chemistry, biology, consumer products regulations, production/manufacturing processes, quality assurance practices, or other relevant areas of the retail industry
•    Experience working in grocery retail or other industry involving food or consumer products
•    SAP software
•    ICIX
•    Salesforce

 

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
•    Bachelor’s degree
•    1-3 years of experience in a related field 3
•    In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above
•    Driver’s License

 

Preferred Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
•    ServSafe, PCQI, HACCP, or other industry standard certifications/licenses
•    German language skills
