Summary

The Specialist - Marketing (Copywriter) develops content that adheres to the brand voice and tone. This role reports to the Content Manager and works alongside other copywriters on the Content Team, which supports all marketing and digital channels. This individual works closely with other copywriters and mar-keting team members regularly to execute tasks

What You’ll Do

  • The Specialist - Marketing (Copywriter) is essentially responsible for the following areas:
  • Conceptualize creative copy that adheres to the brand voice and tone
  • Write, edit and proofread clear, persuasive and original copy for all marketing channels including weekly leaflet, direct mail, in-store signage, print special projects and digital/social channels
  • Translate merchant language into consumer-friendly copy
  • Collaborate in group work when needed
  • Work with other teams (e-commerce, legal, label compliance, CSR, digital, etc.) to ensure content meets needed requirements
  • Build working relationships with visual designers to ensure content and images (when used together) align with each other
  • Maintain daily, weekly and one-off tasks by possessing detail organization and efficient time management skills
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, marketing, advertising, communications, or related field
  • 0 - 2 years of related working experience
  • Ability to time manage multiple weekly priorities as well as ad-hoc tasks with tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • AP Style knowledge and excellent grammar and proofreading skills
  • Marketing knowledge and the ability to write for various formats
  • Ability to take constructive criticism and change direction when needed
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Writing portfolio is required

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (if any)

  • Good depth of knowledge in CPG, retail, grocery or related B2C industry
  • Prior copywriting experience for retail
  • Editorial abilities for magazines or special publications
  • 1 year of copywriting experience
