Summary
The Warehouse Associate - Logistics (Maintenance Technician) is proactive and responsive in maintaining and repairing company assets, executing daily maintenance checks, and taking preventative and reactive measures. The role keeps the working environment safe and productive for those working in our warehouse. In addition, the Associate maintains a scheduled maintenance route and daily work orders.
What You’ll Do
Essential Functions
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance tasks as assigned by both a checklist system and internal requests at the RDC
- Execute electrical and plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installations
- Perform painting, carpentry, and masonry work
- Perform handyman work functions
- Survey warehouse daily and complete preventative maintenance checklist
- Communicate to maintenance manager site conditions and concerns
- Organize & maintain supplies and necessary parts
- Coordinate work as required with contractors with whom service and purchasing agreements
are in place - Monitor and maintain warehouse facility, assets, and equipment to ensure compliance with
applicable Health and Safety requirements - Ensure that external contractors carrying out work on Company’s premises follow Health and
Safety requirements - Support filing and administration of contracts and maintenance records
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge of retail/distribution environment
- Knowledge of inventory control and OSHA regulations
- Good understanding and ability to maintain HVAC, plumbing fundamentals and electrical systems and equipment
- Ability to work with power tools, and perform carpentry, paint, and plastering work
- Basic computer knowledge of Excel, Word, and ability to use an iPad
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Ability to identify maintenance opportunities, create solutions, and make recommendations
- Attention to detail
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
· Experience in building maintenance, including but not limited to appliance repair,
HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and preventative maintenance
Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
· High School Diploma or GED
· In lieu of Diploma, 3 - 5 years of experience in related field
