Summary

Lidl US is looking for an entry level Licensing Specialist to join our Legal team. This role will assist with the acquisition, maintenance and renewal of business and alcohol licenses for Lidl’s business segments while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and ordinances. Under a Senior Corporate Counsel’s supervision, this position will work with regulatory agencies, government officials, external consultants and internal departments to help ensure the company’s compliance with all federal, state and local authorities regarding licensing and permitting.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with obtaining, maintaining and renewing licenses including but not limited to collecting relevant information from internal departments, preparing applications, obtaining license fee payments and preparing mailings
  • Assist with research and outreach to federal, state and local authorities to identify licensing requirements and average processing times
  • Assist with scheduling relevant pre-opening inspections by coordinating internal stakeholder and external agency availability
  • Utilize licensing software to file licensing applications and renewals, track progress, and provide status reports
  • Organize, manage and upload licensing information and other applicable documents to licensing files and databases
  • Field licensing-related inquiries from external agencies and internal departments
  • Facilitate cross-departmental communication and information sharing
  • Provide administrative support to department as needed

 

What You’ll Need

  • GED Diploma or Associate’s degree with related work experience
  • 1-3 years of administrative support or similar professional experience
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced open office environment
  • Ability to research, analyze, and organize findings quickly and effectively while maintaining high attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain relationships with internal and external counterparts  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • PowerPoint presentation skills
  • This position commutes between stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers less than 25% of the time
