Summary

Lidl is looking for its next Audit Specialist to join the Quality & Sustainability team in HQ! The Quality & Sustainability Audit Specialist provides experienced facilitation and support of Q&S process and workflow functions to achieve departmental goals as it pertains to the supplier onboarding and ongoing production facility audit and production site monitoring program for all Private Label goods.  

What You’ll Do

Essential Functions

  • Organize and monitor the following activities in accordance with Quality Assurance Standards: Planning and monitoring production site audits, facilitation feedback and supplier discussions, technical support for Purchasing for audit quality-related questions, audit results, supplier notifications, and general product problems.
  • Assist in completing supplier onboarding projects and/or department data, ensuring it meets predetermined contractual or policy requirements in accordance with Preventive Controls for Human Food Version 2.
  • Process and classify third party production facility audit results.
  • Conduct data entry and assist in data management.
  • Escalate critical issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitor audit costs ensuring alignment with contractual agreements checks invoices for accuracy and presents monthly budget report to leadership.
  • Assist with the development of presentations and project plans.
  • Participate in work processes, systems, and/or procedures to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Identify, opportunities for business and process improvement.
  • Update guidelines, standard operating procedures, and instructional materials.
  • Support the further development and optimization of all processes related to food safety and quality regarding the quality of the work results and efficiency.
  • Provide support for the interfacing departments
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

  • Knowledge of Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI) standards and Audit Schemes including BRC, IFS, SQF, etc.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods of food science, physics, chemistry, or biology, consumer products regulations, production and manufacturing processes, and quality assurance practices, or other relevant areas of the retail industry.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with excellent follow-through skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suit and/or Google workspace or related software.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

  • SAP software.


Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food science, Biology, Chemistry or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field.

In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above.


Preferred Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience 

  • ServSafe, PCQI, HACCP, or other industry standard certifications/licenses

 

Physical Job Requirements 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.


Travel Requirements 

  • This position commutes between stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers less than 25% of the time
    Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or train
